review 1: This was a true delight! It is a truly light–hearted political satire. Very humorous. It made for a relief from the usual political/intrigue novels that consume bookstore shelves these days. What a pleasant relief. I actually felt hopeful while reading it…except for the end. I knew the author had to bring Josiah home somehow because of his Amish background was demanding it to end. It just caught me by surprise, which is a good thing.Granted, this was not about the current political issues of the day, but it is about the current mess we have in Washington. After all, politics is about people, issues are the tools that are used by the politicians to illicit support. But in the end, it is always about the people. And this story is strictly about the politicians, or to be ... moremore accurate, their archetypes. This is a feel–good novel about modern politics. Sorry, no intrigues here. If you want to feel lighter about politics and enjoy a good laugh, then this is for you. If you want some intrigue…don’t come here. You will be disappointed
review 2: Our Country Needs A Josiah!I loved this book! Author Martha Bolton kept me page turning as fast as my eyes could read. She hit the nail on the head for a delightful entertaining wishful thinking read! Was it a coincidence that Mark Stedman had veered off course due to his GPS system and an accident landing him smack dab into Amish territory where he had his first encounter with Josiah Stoltzfus? I think not! God does work in mysterious ways. The way the characters of Josiah and Mark handled the stress of campaigning and mudslinging from their opponents’ was refreshing to say the least.I started wondering what would happen if we had a Josiah/Mark team running for President/Vice President in our Country. What a fascinating run that would be!Thank you author Martha Bolton for a wonderful thought provoking read!I can't wait to see the Musical Josiah for President this summer at the Blue Gate Theater in Shipshewana, Indiana. I know it is going to be GREAT! less
