review 1: I do not think that I shall ever think of The Lake District as I did before I read this mystery! The Lake District is a wonderfully beautiful place, but now it will be spooky too! And what a grand setting for a mystery - Halloween! Having been to The Lake District a few times, I really appreciate its natural beauty, but this author used the natural beauty to greatly add to this mystery, and that is well done. If I am lucky enough to return to this extremely lovely place, I believe that I shall be looking over my shoulder - just in case.........! As I discovered, the people in this part of England are very friendly. Let's hope the ghosts are as well!
review 2: This is my first Lake District Mystery, and I think I may read some of the others when I don't ... morehave a lot of reading to catch up on. Frankly, it was okay, but I figured out who the murderer was way too soon, and I don't like that. I'm not in the business of trying to outguess the detective. Also, like too many mysteries these days, it has a bit of soap opera-ish quality which I could do without. But, I was entertained. less
