review 1: I got this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. I am sorry to say that I only got as far as 20% because I found the book so boring and slow. Both characters seem to be great and I was greatly interested in the dynamics of Des' siblings and would like to see how they developed, but everytime I pick up the book and start to read, I get sleepy. A book needs to enthrall, to make you so interested in its plot and need to know what happens that it chases away sleep and tiredness. Unfortunately, this book didn't do it for me and after three tries, I'm giving up.

... morevel. I didn't need to worry a bit, Rivers is every bit in command in the longer format. Like with her earlier stories the characters are intelligent, the romance – true romance and not instantenous illogical lust mistaken for love – is realistically and sweetly built up. I mean, the characters spy each other in a library and covertly watch and hunger for each other for months, until the day when one of them comforts the other in a moment of complete vulnerability. Bittersweet, lovely, beautiful, and I just want Hefin. Like, I want to take a trip to Wales and find a woodcarver of my own. less

Eh...bogged down by the writing. I did like the concept, though.
