review 1: I am a huge fan of Mary Burton, but this book just didn't work all that well for me. There were MANY things in the story that weren't written the same throughout the book. For instance, the killer has killed 18 women before his last planned double murder but when asked by his victim how many he has killed, he says 'after tonight it will be twelve'. I also had issues with the murderer, usually I am trying very hard to decide who it is and why they did it, but I am afraid for early on I had this one figured out and the suspense kind of was lost on me. I didn't feel much "romance" with this book, although I do admit there was a bit of an attraction, just didn't feel it was a strong connection.
review 2: Another good read from Mary Burton, I liked the different a
... morepproach to the relationship between the main characters this time. I had a bit of an issue with how quickly Rokov and Sinclair made links between everything (walking into the first crime scene and immediately thinking it is supernatural...) but, as the book follows the same 'cookie cutter' formula as her others, it was an enjoyable read overall. I would like to have a book on Sinclair as I find her quite intriguing! less
