review 1: Eva Rayburn has returned home after serving ten years for killing the man who raped her. She has built a new life for herself with help from King the man who owns the bar where she works and lives. Now women's bodies are being found with stars branded on their abdomens and stabbed in the heart. Eva has her own star brand and Detective Garrison is asking questions as the women being killed are Eva's sorority sisters who testified against her. Now Eva has her own nightmare as someone is trying to kill her and she must protect the people she loves which includes her sister. I loved the ending as it was a surprise.
review 2: Good book. Strong likeable protagonist--not too battle scarred and cold. It was fast paced, it had me guessing till the bitter end almost... more. Lots of plot twists and turns! All on all a good diversion from my series books! Though I won't be rushing out to buy merciless with Eva's sister and the partner to the male detective in This story about another psycho killer...come on now!! Alexandria ain't that big!! How many wack jobs do they get!! That is a bit of a reach! Lol less
