review 1: This was a great read! I really enjoyed it! It was a cool storyline! The characters were fun, I liked that their were two romance stories and that each of the four characters ended up falling for the person that many people would say was the least suitable for them- but it all worked out as God had planned!I actually thought the villain was really interesting, the motive behind her longing for gold was a very unique one that you don't see very often in stories. This book reminded of the National Treasure movies, except in a historical setting which I loved!  But one  I didn't like about this book was the physical affection between Gabe and Shannon. Yes this book is clean, but the amount of kissing and cuddling annoyed me, especially because by the end of the book they h... moreave only known each other about a week! This was a great read and I highly recommend it!
review 2: "Deep Trouble" by Mary Connealy is a book that goes along with "Cowboy Christmas". Now there is no need to read "Cowboy Christmas" first if it is hard to find, for the first time I read the book I was not able to get my hands on "Cowboy Christmas" and frankly it didn't really matter. Now after finally getting my hands on "Cowboy Christmas" and then reading this book again, frankly I have a lot more respect for Gabe Lasley.Unfortunately , this book was far too predictable, to the point where I figured out what was going to happen by the middle of the book the first time around (looking back over my notes from the first read). I kept reading the entire book both times around because well I had to make sure that I didn't miss anything. There are numerous points of views but they work so well together that it is not distracting at all. Frankly this is one of the very few books, that I can say that all the different point of views were actually what helped keep the book moving along and interesting, other wise with it being so predictable I might not have enjoyed it as much as I did.Ms. Connealy's sense of humor can be seen throughout the book as well. So although it is predictable, I still enjoyed the book and would recommend it. less

This was not my favorite book by this author. I enjoyed the story but it seemed to drag in places.
