review 1: Age: Preschool-KindergartenFamily: Older brother, newborn babyEmotions: Assorted, feeling more than one emotion at the same timeThe clear layout and storyline of this book makes it a keeper for older siblings and for understanding emotions. Theo is trying to identify what his mood is at school, especially after his mother had a baby girl. His classmates try to help him by describing their current mood and why they feel that way. But Theo feels all these emotions at the same time. How can he do this? Because he feels like a big brother!

This would be a great way for them to see how elementary they sound.2) It’s also a good way to demonstrate suspense and resolution as the entire book builds towards Theo’s mood.TEACH: CCSS Connection W.11.12.3c Use a variety of techniques to sequence events so that they build on one another to create a coherent whole and build toward a particular tone and outcome. less

A great book to talk about moods. I love how the class talks about each mood and helps Theo decide.
