review 1: And another successful addition to the Undead (or Queen Betsy) series…As I have said before, the Undead series is not an intellectual book full of discussion topics about the meaning of life. Undead is purely for entertainment, which is nice. Sometimes it’s nice to read, or listen, to a book that requires no brain cells whatsoever.Which brings me to the fact that I listened to the audiobook. I don’t remember why I started the first one in audiobook format, but once I did, I never went back, even though I do own the first eleven books in hardcover. The narrator for the audiobooks is phenomenal. I think she nails Betsy on the head. In addition, because no higher brain function is required to read or listen to this series, it is perfect to accompany working out, cooking... more, cleaning, etc.As always, I don’t recommend listening to this on a speaker if you have kids around. The series has a lot of profanity and some graphic sex; some books have more of the sex than others.In Unwelcome, you will get a different narrator sprinkled in there with Betsy. Marc narrates a portion of the story. In addition to Betsy’s main storyline with the werewolves, you will also get some more of Laura’s story, which is interesting and quite amusing. What is better than the antichrist? The antichrist plus devil worshipers doing good deeds. Good stuff.Give the series a try. I think you will be amused.
review 2: Comme toujours, c'est un plaisir de retrouver Betsy et ses amis pour de nouvelles aventures.Trois intrigues se partagent ce tome. Tout d'abord, on fait une incursion assez poussé dans l'univers des loup-garou avec betsy et sinclair. Même si la description faite et assez classique, elle n'en reste pas moins très bien faite. Avec une petite particularité qu'est le conseil. les relations entre la meute et betsy sont assez tendus jusqu'au moment où comme le dit sinclair : le charme de betsy opère.C'est également l'occasion pour se pencher un peu sur le cas de bébé John. En effet, Betsy va commencer à s'interroger sur sa "normalité". il semblerait que bébé john nous réserve quelques surprises pour le plus grand intérêt de Sinclair.Enfin, afin d ménager le suspens et de nous informer de ce qui se passe pendant l'absence de Betsy, l'auteure nous livre quelques pages du nouveau journal de Marc. Et grâce à Laura, il ne manque pas de chose à raconter. En effet, celle-ci à décider de "rendre service " à sa soeur mais à sa façon bien à elle.Ainsi, dans ce tome betsy va se faire de nouveaux alliés mais sa relation avec sa soeur va également prendre un nouveau tournant.Bref un tome drôle, émouvant et riche en révélations ! less
