review 1: The fascinating end to the last book has certainly set up some issues for this one. Laura is clearly angry with Betsy and there are a lot of potential problems there. The interesting twist for Sinclair in the last book rears its head in this one and...the results aren't all that awesome. I felt myself getting irritated with Sinclair and Betsy in this book and kind of wanted to smack their heads together. I suspect Dr. Taylor felt the same way when NO ONE would listen to her about Jessica's pregnancy. I mean, gee, why would they? There were smoothies to make after all. The book answers some of the questions the last left hanging, but there are some real issues that I see in the future and I'm not sure I'm going to be able to keep going along for the ride unless I do it out ... moreof sheer need to finish a series because I'm weird. At this point, it is less about enjoying the books and more about watching the train wreck and I'm not happy about that. There is potential from this point and I REALLY hope that MJD seizes upon it and runs with it. I hope that we see more of BabyJon as a real person and not an accessory to foist off on Dr. Taylor. If he's supposed to grow up into an amazing person who loves his Mom and Aunt Laura, then something needs to happen that shows them interacting with him. As it stands, I suspect he believes Dr. Taylor is his mom (and how awkward is that?). I want to see more growth in characters and not the same old crap that has been in every other book. Betsy is no longer endearing and she needs to get her act together. Sinclair needs to find a balance within himself again and, yeah, another book with him like that might have me screaming. Hopefully now that the pregnancy thing is resolved we can move on and actually bring this train wreck back to the lovable Betsy train wreck as opposed to the "oh my stars, why am I reading this?!" train wreck we have now.
review 2: Terrible book. NO plot. I have liked all her others in this series....I feel the author was under deadline to rush out a book, because that's how it appears. Read chapter 1, then skip to about page 169. The first half of the book is NOTHING except a whole lot of sarcastic jibes at people and NO plot whatsoever. And the last half of the book sets up for another book. I do not plan to read any others in this series. They are not worth my time. less
