review 1: Liksom Cirkeln och Eld tycker jag det är.. halvbra. Jag blir aldrig riktigt tillfredsställd, i Berättelser från Engelsfors är det allt för korta novelliknande nedstick i huvudpersonernas liv för att de ska hinna bli intressanta, och jag hade önskat något fylligare. Jag får mest känslan av något ihophafsat: en bra idé som sedan ingen riktigt orkade följa upp till slutet. Riktigt snyggt med de olika tarotkorten som "kapitelrubriker", och alla tre tecknarna är förstås fantastiska: men jag blir inte berörd. Jag önskar så att jag blev det.
review 2: I bought this at a book signing, which was very exciting! I fell in love with Karl's style immediately. At first I didn't like the way Lina drew noses, but her style quickly grew on me (it was quite e... morenjoyable to see the chapter about Rebecka and Gustav without any writing). Kim's style also grew on me, and after sitting with the comic all evening I wanted more! I have to admit that as far as the stories went it felt a little empty. I think it's because it was a lot of repetition, even if there were scenes with Elias and Olivia that we haven't read before it didn't feel entirely new (which could be nice and familiar?) I also wished for more Minoo, but I suppose we have more of her story to look forward to in the next book. less
