review 1: In a different world of fantasy the Book Ghosts of Ascalon takes place in a World called Tyria the main character in the book is Dougal Keane who is a human who uses his wits to obtain treasure’s. He is eventually recruited by the vigil and with the team he joins he has to get the Claw of Khan-Ur. The writers Matt Forbeck and Jeff Grub had sometimes a repetitive write style in they way they describe scenes where fighting happening. It is told in a third person point of view and the point of view follows Dougal Keane. Matt Forbeck and Jeff Grubb in this book describe the friction between the 2 races in Tyria the Charr and the Human’s and how the friction was resolved. Dougal Keane shows his wits throughout the become many times saving the group from traps and death. Fan... mores of fantasy would enjoy this especially people who play or have followed Guild Wars.
review 2: Ghosts of Ascalon takes place after Guild Wars 1 and after the book Guild wars: Destiny's Edge. It's a curious tale of a small group who is tasked with returning a relic and securing a peace talk between the humans and the Charr. A decent book, well written with a likable cast of characters. A great chance to explore the relations of Ebonhawke and the Charr legions as well as the situation of Ascalon. less

It was OK. I got bored with this book a few times, but other than that it was a decent read.

Typical game tie-in book. Worth it for the lore if you're into the Guild Wars games.
