The Great War
review 1: The first book in a trilogy set in Europe during the First World War. This book is set in a small Northern village in France that is occupied by German troops. The villagers are divided into two families that have been feuding for years. During the time of occupation these feelings are set aside so they can survive the occupation. Added to that is the addition of several refugees that the villagers hide. One of these refugees is a young man who claims both American and Belgian citizenship, and finds the love of his life in this village. Listed as Christian fiction genre, the author portrays the faith of the people while telling the horrors of war.
review 2: I haven't read much set in WWI so I was looking forward to learning more about that time in history.
... moreHowever this book have little historical back ground. I enjoyed this book for the soul purpose that the main character, Julitte, had great faith in Christ and her prayers were the most beautiful prayers I've ever heard. I loved the look I got into a personal and intimate relationship between human and diety when chaos and suffering were everywhere. less

It was fine. I skimmed a lot because it was pretty slow.
