review 1: Once you get past chapter 30 or so, good luck trying to put the book down. I finished the second in the Dust Chronicles trilogy at 2:30AM and I had never felt so accomplished as a reader but more-so, more impressed with Maureen McGowan as a writer. I don't want to call any reveals at the end predictable, but the degree to which it happens is just taken to an 11. I knew one character was going to be evil, but not as evil as she turned out to be. By the end of the book, you realize that the politics and factions that Glory is tossed among are not black-and-white and I can't wait to find out how she will pick her battles.
review 2: This book wasn't perfect but it was engrossing. I hate the love triangle, although this is the only one I've read where I truly like b
... moreoth of the guys. Her constant double-mindedness gets tiring. I also wanted to shake Glory when she couldn't see what is painfully and glaringly obvious to the reader. Over and over and over. This author tends to spend too much time stating the obvious, like when she takes a paragraph to explain that when you know someone really well, you can figure out their thoughts without even having direct access to their mind. I think we've pretty much all learned that life lesson already, but thanks. The story, though, is very captivating, so I'll be waiting for the next book. less
