review 1: I am a huge fan of this TV Show, I love the fact that it delves into the "why" of the crime rather than only the "how" as other police dramas do. I am greatly interested in what motivates people to do things - especially because I believe that at the heart all humans are basically good, so why do things so dastardly?I have also been interested in Forensics since I can recall (though I hated science in school :) ) so Criminal Minds ticks 2 main boxes for me. The other big box the show ticks is the fact that it is believable - people do bad things and CM doesn't sugar coat that but it does make you think about how close to the edge a lot of people out there must be - especially in times like ours.Killer Profile is book 2 - and features Rossi (Love my Rossi!)A huge improvemen... moret on Collins 1st book about CM! And I loved the way he nailed the Rossi character in the opening chapter: "The newest member of their team was nothing less than a legend in the FBI, and a bestselling author to boot, as well as a top lecturer both within the profession and without. The fiftyish David Rossi had the look of a professor at a small college—black hair, well-trimmed goatee, and casual business attire (blue work shirt with a striped tie under a gray sports jacket and, of course, jeans). When he strolled out of the elevator, as if he owned the joint, his confidence managed to stop just this side of arrogance.Maybe he didn’t own the joint, but Rossi had certainly helped build it." PERFECT The plot of this book is also stronger and much more compelling then that of the first book with a maniac recreating famous murders done by serial killers. There is some good work here lending insight into the criminal profiling process and into the mind of the killer and those pursuing him. Definitely recommended!
review 2: For fans of the show, this is a good book. However if you're a hardcore fan of the show and have watched it from the beginning, I don't know if I'd bother reading it because they did this case in one episode (can't remember which off the top of my head) so it's kind of anti-climatic. It was still a fun read and any crime book like that I'll take :) Plus Max Allan Collins knows how to write crime. He's written several CSI franchise (I know of at least both of CSI: Las Vegas, and CSI: Miami) as well as at least two books for the Bones fandom. less

Not bad, but a little light. I finished it in an hour, which is fast even for me.
