review 1: What a delightful read. A spunky heroine who writes for a newspaper who carries a secret passion for a handsome duke who she met by accident. Unfortunately this particular Duke is engaged to a beautiful woman whose father, a Baron whose finances are at risk is determined to get his grubby, greedy hands on the Duke's money so he can continue to add to his stable of expensive horses. The girl is not interested in the Duke but Sophie knows her father will do everything to see the marriage takes place. And of course Sophie, who is not of the Ton has the chance of a snowball in well you know where, of nabbing this particular duke. But Sophie is a particularly clever snowball, and engages the help of a foreign prince and others to help her. A delightful read. Recomme... morended.
review 2: This book was ok, but it went on much, much too long and that ruined it. It was ridiculously repetitive, and though I liked Brandon quite a bit in the beginning, the longer he dilly-dallied the less I liked him. I also found it completely unbelievable that a women like Sophie who would breakdown in nerves at another's wedding would be ok engaging in a flirtation with an engaged man - essentially doing to someone else what Lavinia had done to her. Just...meh. less
