review 1: This is a fun book about many things: grief, loss, trauma, coming-of-age, and social class. Like Lemony Snicket, Templeman blends the vocabulary of an erudite with the vocabulary of a typical teenage girl, only she leaves the context as the only clue toward definition. Furthermore, the story is textured with other stories--fairy tales and Odysseus. The narrator, Callie, has been long wandering the land of the dead, and she seeks closure--that is, if such a thing even exists.
review 2: This book disappointed me. I bought it expecting a creepy story, but I didn't really get that. I felt like the author strayed from the plot a bit, especially when adding things like drug use. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that was really necessary to the plot. Also, h
