review 1: Surprisingly, for an erotic romance novella compilation, it was not very steamy. The first story was good, and set up a promising premise, world, and set of characters. But it went downhill fast. The second story was boring and the third story was so underwhelming (D/s relationship? Really? She just seemed, I don't know, a teeny bit bossy. Not what I would think of as a 'Dominant'. It wouldn't have bothered me except that Mina's proclivities and talents were endlessly repeated. Meh.) that I basically skipped pages to get through it. I guess I'd try another by this author, but I'm definitely in no rush.
review 2: This was a series of three novellas set in a fictional historical setting in which women, who are special servants of their Holy Family, go ou... moret in the world and provide solace to their "patrons." They seem to be well-versed in varieties of kink that provide their patrons with a renewed self-worth and self-awareness. In the case of the three Handmaidens in this book, all ended up leaving the service in order to stay with the patron featured in the story. The stories can probably be termed erotica. The characters and their underlying emotional issues are compelling, though. less
