review 1: Judy Moody and Stink: The Big Bad Blackout is very cute and bursting with fun. It captures the spirit of a blackout where in the darkness we appreciate the electricity and all that life has to give. Usually, in the dark, we appreciate the little things that we easily overlook in our day to day pace of so-called life. The funniest part was when Judy Moody and Stink play a ghost prank on Grandma. There are lots of usage of words that demonstrate sounds, like "ker-plunk!" The "chapters" are short but also fun to keep the attention of a beginning reader. Enjoyable book overall!
review 2: I received this book through a Goodreads First Reads giveaway.This was a fun little book about a family dealing with a blackout during a hurricane. The story took place in an area ... morenot hugely impacted by the hurricane, so it focused on the fun activities the kids and their parents and grandmother did to keep themselves occupied. It's very definitely light weight and silly but very enjoyable. less
