Cloud Prophet Trilogy
review 1: * I received this novel from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. *Anathema was a quick YA read. This is the first book I've read from Megg Jensen and I was able to breeze right through it. I liked the premise of the book: slave girl rises to be the hope of her oppressed people. The supernatural spin to it was the "gifted" individuals in the novel. Our main gal, Reychel, is saved from her branding ceremony that occurs on her 15th birthday. She is saved from others that are like her but without nearly the amount of power she has. Upon her escape, Reychel is taken under the tutelage of another gifted woman and eventually they ascertain she is the Prophet, the one who was foretold about generations ago. The plot thickens with other supporting characters and a few twist... mores and OMG moments. I would definitely read the second in this trilogy.
review 2: I received this copy for free through NetGalley.A really wonderful novel.I really enjoyed the character, Raychel. She evolved a lot over the novel. Starting with a girl that hid in the shadows and did as she was told, to a strong character willing to fight for the people she cares about.Raychel's nemesis was a surprise at first. Even the man that was her Master was not as evil as the real nemesis.A unique story. Full of surprise and intrigue. I enjoyed it a lot and can't wait to read the next book. less
