review 1: Why We Love Dogs was every bit as impactful and amazing as I'd hoped. The book discussion on this title was energetic and inspiring. Interestingly (but not surprisingly), the structure of carnism is closely related to any other oppressive power structure. As a woman, this book gave me a lot to think about and reaffirmed my belief that all feminists should also be vegans, and hopefully would be if exposed to the right information. A must read for veggies, but also highly recommend for the every day omnivore :)

My decision to reduce my meat consumption weighed heavily on financial and health-related issues and my distrust of the governmental agen... morecies in place to ensure consumers are purchasing foods that are safe. I look forward to our book club discussion as I for one wrestle with the "to each his own" philosophy when, as the author points out, there are clearly ramifications to all of us by turning a blind eye to those who continue to consume meat in a reckless, ignorance is bliss manner. less
