review 1: This book started off so strongly. A quick and easy read, I finished it in a day. That being said, the qualities that drew me in disappeared about halfway in. The narrator starts off so strong, but relatable. The details of abuse were very difficult for me, as a mother, to read at times. This is a testament to the quality of the writing. After while, it becomes quite cumbersome and the narrative is no longer unique or believable. If nothing else, it's worth reading just for the incredible first half. After that, it's a crapshoot.
