review 1: I'm not going to lie, I only read this book because I enjoyed watching the TV show. But I must say, the show is definitely better. The book started out good, with detailed backstories of the main characters and their different forms of magic. Then, out of nowhere, a random blue blood is thrown in. This isn't a blue bloods spin off, is it? So why reference them in this book? After the randomness, the story goes from them just being witches to them being gods from Asgard. I'm sorry, but you can't establish your characters as one thing, and then completely changed them into something else at the end. I just don't think the storyline flowed very well. I'll continue the series to see if they continue being gods or revert back to their former witchy state.
review 2:
... moreAside from the stereotypical characters, the logical inconsistencies (i.e. a very popular vacation spot that somehow also exists outside time?!), the lackluster writing, and the very muddled ending, I have one BIG complaint. Towards the end of the book, one of the characters refers to the burning of 19 of "their kind" (witches) in Salem. Truth is, anyone with even a passing knowledge of the Salem Witch Trials knows that only one person accused of witchcraft was actually burned to death. The others were hung, stoned, or pressed by rocks. I can't abide sloppy research. No excuse for this. less

Parfait, tout simplement parfait. Freya et Killian sont décidément mes personnages préférés.

Interesting only in the way the imaginary town fits into the.East End of Long Island.

I really hate it when the tv show or movie is indeed better than the book.
