review 1: Nice brisk read. I loved the pacing of this book- there wasn't a slow moment, not one page that caused me to drift away and find other uses for my time. STINKER OF AN ENDING. One gets the notion that Ms. Miller found herself adrift in plotlines and characters with no idea on how to tie it all together- so she said 'Let's take all the main characters that are still drawing air, plunk them together in a room, and see how things play out." The answer- not believably. All in all though a good time by an author new to me. This book of hers is the first in a three book series and I'm looking forward to starting book two.
review 2: Sasha McCandless is a rising attorney working towards partnership in her upscale law firm of Prescott & Talbott full of high powered attor
... morenies with big name clients. When the plane owned by one of their larger clients goes into the side of the mountain in Virginia, Sasha ends up heading the case and investigation when she suspects the crash is not an accident. The technology may stretch the fabric of reality but makes for a good plot and a fast-moving story that doesn't let up the page-turning twists. The characters are well developed and the plot has you doubting the veracity of the male lead more times than not. The young female attorney seems to be strong, independent and intelligent and is generally staffed by the equally inspired assistants you'd expect in a this caliber law firm, thoughtful and capable. Would the air marshalls really put out a lone investigator of a crash of this magnitude; probably not, especially in the way that Special Agent Leo Connelly portrays. It's nice to read of a heroine who is not 6', lean, and beautiful, but barely 5' soaking wet, powerful, and more than able to hold her own in the courtroom as well as in a parking garage brawl. Interesting page turner I'd be happy to recommend. less
