review 1: I loved the character of Darcy. She loves her books, and so do I. The quotes before each chapter were also charming. I could see myself in Darcy's life, doing what she had tried to do, to help a victim in need. Especially since her bike accident made him the victim. I also liked the kind and sexy manner of Aiden Harris, who was the unfortunate person in front of her bike. The dog bailey was also a sweetie. I read a lot of the same books, though I also read paranormal, and sci/fy as well. I too, seem to always have a book at the ready.I can see how she came to her conclusions about his life, although some were just fantasy on her part, but I am a little older than her. I liked the ending, but wish the epilogue had wrapped their story up a little more. It was a good read, fo... morer a rainy day. This is the first novel I have tried from this author. Darcy being a book worm, and working in a quaint bookshop drew me right in....
review 2: This is why I tend to avoid all these romance books! In the beginning I was fine with Darcy and her adventures, even though the whole setup was very quaint and over-explanatory. Then we got to Aiden's POV and I swear, all my goodwill disappeared. I get that the author is trying to portray him as the good guy, but he constantly says how he's just a humble Irish guy who works hard, how he loves animals, how he's not like everyone else, did I mention how humble and down to earth he says he is, also he's not into money even though his job lets him mingle with rich people. Too much. Also the whole secret thing got annoying after a while, and I feel like Darcy got neglected at the end because the focus was on Aiden. If I wanted to read about a guy humblebragging his way in life I wouldn't have chosen a freaking romance. less
