review 1: Without a doubt, I would have liked this short story more had I read "A Little Harmless Lie" first, which is the preceding book in the series and told the story of Micah and Dee meeting and getting together. There is clearly a strong relationship between the couple and this is a good "what happened after" story. Fans of this series will definitely enjoy this short. That said, let me be clear about what this is if this series is new to you. It is a short erotica story, that includes light BDSM. It's good for what it is, but I am very glad I got it for free. I enjoyed the first book in this series, however, the rest of this series took an abrupt turn from a standard adult romance series to one for people with more exotic tastes. I like Melissa Schroeder's writing, but... more I'm on the fence as to whether I'll follow through with this series.
review 2: I am a huge fan of the Harmless series and was looking forward to reading the short story about the much loved characters Micah and Dee. This is an extremely short story, literally one chapter and takes less than half an hour to read. It goes straight into the bedroom with Micah and Dee and then waking up in the morning, Dee gives Micah a birthday present which does not involve going back in the bedroom.Overall, it was nice to catch up with the characters but there was not enough substance and when I finished the story I was disappointed. Melissa Schroeder has done other short stories involving favourite characters of the Harmless series which had something more to give and I was surprised at the end of the story that there was not much too this at all. I was also disappointed with the fact that I had paid to read a chapter that is the same size as free samples you get with other ebooks. This is definitely not worth the price tag whether you are a Harmless fan like me, or not. It's a real shame. less
