review 1: This was a great book. It could be a five star book except for a few things: This took place during Queen Victoria's reign, but except for the fashion, transportation, and dialogue, I didn't really feel like it was a historical book. Clearly, you can tell that it isn't contemporary, I just wanted more evidence, background, etc to be added to immerse me in that time period.Also, this had the potential to really make the reader feel the danger that the hero and heroine faced. I didn't really feel the urgency of the confrontation even though the villain was supposed to be sadistic and vengeful.Lastly, I don't appreciate my books ending at 89 percent. : ) I know there were some great samples included, but STILL...those extra pages could have fleshed out some of the story!All t... morehat aside, I really enjoyed it. I would read this author again.
review 2: This has to be the first historical romance that had vamps in it, that Ive had the pleasure to read. I truly loved Nico's mother, what a lady! I enjoyed the fact that Cordelia was not like a lot of the Ladies of the ton. She held her own with her intelligence and sassiness. Nico whats not to adore about him? raw sex walking in a form of a man, the situation that he found himself in upon meeting Cordelia... he could have just let go, but he didn't. He showed much honor.Cordelia's easy acceptance of her new fate shows just what type of lady she really is. The passionate scenes between them were hot and steamy. The way they got along, was great... I love vampires and this will be a fav of mine. There isn't anything bad I can say about this. It was awesome!! Id recommend it to anyone that likes Vampires... Enjoy! less
