review 1: Bradley Zelder has been floating through life for at least the last ten years. He works as a school custodian and moves from fling to fling without a commitment, feeling nothing towards his bed partners. Sneaking out of his latest tryst’s home, Bradley’s truck breaks down too far away from home for his comfort. After receiving assistance from a man who embodies everything to which Bradley is attracted; Bradley almost lets his rescuer escape because he’s ashamed and intimidated. Plucking up his courage, Bradley finds his mysterious Good Samaritan, Caleb, and steps into uncharted territory. Soon Bradley is flourishing through Caleb’s tenderness and looking at life through fresh eyes. When Caleb is attacked and severely beaten, it is now Bradley’s time to truly embr... moreace the man Caleb believes him to be and save Caleb. Can a random act of violence kill the loving relationship born through a random act of kindness?RANDOM ACTS is a very touching novel of redemption, survival, and the healing power of love. Bradley is beautifully flawed, not living up to his potential because of past emotional traumas, and while Caleb seems perfect on the outside, he too has his demons. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the author built the romance between Bradley and Caleb, taking things slow, so when there was more intimacy it truly meant something special to them both. RANDOM ACTS will burrow its way into your heart and show how little things can make a big impact on the world and those around you.
review 2: this was such a incredible book. the story is beautiful and sad and wonderful. the romance progresses in real time. We see the characters grow and learn about each other.Bradley is floundering. Floundering in life, relationships and in self confidence. He doesn’t really know himself well or what he wants. He is down on himself and just wondering where his life will go when he meets Caleb. Caleb who is just starting to take a chance again since his husband Daniel passed away. Caleb is self assured and confident. And Bradley likes him. when around him at first he is flustered. Not sure how to act or what to do. He wants to be what Caleb wants. Little does hie know all Caleb wants is him. Their first date is a disaster. Bradley tries too hard and is wondering why Caleb wants to date him. Caleb has high expectations. Once they talk it out, they decide on a do over and I am glad they did.As they get to know each other we get to know them. We see Caleb help Bradley gain confidence and pride in himself. Brad starts to care more about his job and people around him. What he does for that little girl will tug at your heartstrings. Bradley learns that a relationship without sex is just as intimate and satisfying as one with because they learn about each other and get close. Bradley sees a soft side to Caleb. Caleb shows Brad that the anticipation of just a kiss is more exciting and intimate than just having sex. When it comes time for sex these two will be aww for you. they are patient with one another and explore each other. We see Brad decide that he doesn’t want this step if it doesn’t mean that him and Caleb are in it for the long haul. A big step from when we first meet him in meaningless sexual relationships. As they explore their feelings and themselves and get closer, Caleb has a traumatic event happen that shatters his world. He turns timid and loses his way. He starts to withdraw from himself and the world. Bradley never leaves his side. He becomes to Caleb what Caleb was to him. His rock and anchor. His love and kindness brings Caleb around and we see this play out.A beautifully written story of love and patience. How love builds us up and helps us be strong when it is needed. A exploration of the relationship of Caleb and Bradley and it is a realistically written romance that will have you smile at how they get to know one another and are each others rock and anchors. less

Really enjoyed this book, my only complaint is that it seemed to end rather abruptly.
