review 1: What a refreshing read! I fell right into this book. Philippe was vividly written, with all his flaws and anxiety and love. All the messy bits that make a person a person. And Dario was sweet and snarky and hot, all wrapped into one. I also adore that the women in this book are well-rounded, likable characters, from Philippe's niece (who is the perfect mix of emotions and maturity for 17. So well done.) to Lauren, the single mom.The book gently tackled PTSD and anxiety and self discovery with grace and style.
review 2: 3.5 starsall in all it was a great book, and i was really torn between giving it 3 or 4 stars but in the end there was something lacking. my problems was with dario's character, he was just flat, there wasn't enough background on him to fully und... moreerstand his action in the book especially in the start of the relationship between him and phil. i couldn't understand where his interest in phil stemmed from, and how phil got from being a pesky visitor in dario's studio to a man that dario was very much in awe of, i guess that's why i didn't really feel real love and connection between the two mc's, i found my self wishing the author showed some parts from dario's pov to get a better understanding of him and his feelings for phil. less
