review 1: Excellent observation... UN-matached analysis of the country's modern history and it's consequences leading to the current situation in Iran governed by the clerics.. Objective, without any emphasis on subjects the author might personally find interesting.. ... morent of Iraq under Saddam (pre-1991, obviously) and Saudi Arabia.Axworthy occasionally digresses from the main point in frustrating ways, notably chronicling the Iran-Iraq War in great detail without a similar level of attention on how it impacted Iranian society at large or the revolution. less
