review 1: You know the kind of books you buy on sale not really knowing if it will be any good but something makes you wonder about it and it being on sale convinces you to take the risk? Those kind of books which the completely unexpectedly you enjoy so much? Esperanza tells her story in one if those books and takes you with her when she us send from her home in Paris to Evenwood in England. Her story and live is based in lies, even more than she realizes and suddenly her life seems only to exist to succeed in the great Task.

... moreiginal but I found that in this case, it was in fact better! I loved everything about this book from the time period to the characters and settings, it had everything I look for in a story and I find myself wishing I had not read it so I could experience it all over again!! less

Meh. Good, but LOOONG. And I was pissed off at the character I initially pitied.
