review 1: The story was ok but it sort of drug on. When her memory returns she's all secret about it and I don't think that would have been her style. She wouldn't be the type to love on a lie. Also. I can't stand when books force you to buy the next book to follow the plot. I prefer to choose to read the next book. At the end I was talking out loud predicting exactly what happened. So, that being said, I've predicted enough of what will happen next that I'm not interested in actually reading the next book.
review 2: Traces of Mercy is categorized as religious, however it is not overly religious; there are Christian undertones, but it's to be expected in post-civil war America.Filled with faith, hope, love and forgiveness woven throughout, add romance, some history,
... more mystery and well developed characters that capture your heart and we are left with a terrific story. From the beginning of the book there are unexpected twists and turns in the story which keep the reader guessing at what is coming next. Mercy has to relearn how to dress and act as a lady after being found post Civil War wounded and mistaken for a man. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys Christian Historical Romance and wants a quick read as I was able to read this in one sitting. less

Story started off with a bang but by the end it became a dud.
