With a name like Suffer The Children, you probably wouldn’t anticipate especially cheery music. Unsurprisingly, the outfit’s latest single Killing Hands shows that you would be correct in your assumptions.
The track is a feast of downbeat, electronic moodiness that feels like a revival of the gothic music scene. That’s not to say the track feels dated in any way though – the production is rich, the sounds are textured and the beats feel as if they have been inspired by elements of trap. It’s an odd mix, particularly with such introspective lyrics and morose deliveries. But it works, and it’s testament to the band’s power.
