review 1: Whether or not you're getting your certification, it's a great start to the basics. Breaks down PC's, their components, and how each component identifies with the other. Teaches basic Windows OS maintenance, command-line use, and problem solving. Everything is clearly explained, and understood, at a layman level. Albeit the book is over 1,200 pages, the pictures help soften some of the density the material contains.
review 2: If you are looking to get your CompTIA A+ certification, this is a good book to use. It has tons of information and Mike does his best to add merriment and mirth to what can sometimes be a dull topic. The only downside to this book, if you could call it a downside, is that it has so much information in it, the book can be quite daunting
... moreto read. Do not let its size turn you off.I purchased this book because I wanted to help my employees get their A+ certifications and planned on using the book as a guide and nothing more. I was pleasantly surprised to find useful information and tips that I could use. I learned something new, they improved their skill sets, and hopefully we will all be A+ Certified. less
