review 1: To me a review is not a synopsis of a book. To me a review is my opinion of whether or not I would recommend this book to another person. I highly recommend this book. It is, like all of Palmer's books, a medical thriller with a tad of corny romance thrown in. This is an excellent and " can't put it down" read. It is also quite educational about war veterans and PTSD. I like to learn while I am entertained so this was a perfect fit. If you listen to it, the narrator is quite good. ( I listen to a lot of my books as I can do tasks around the house while listening.) If you like Robin Cook or Tess Gerritsen, you will love this book and Michael Palmer.
review 2: The government conspiracy angle and action associated with that is good, but this is another soapbox no
... morevel where we get lectured on the author's hot button of the time. Don't get me wrong, I fully understand PTSD and what are men and women go through in the military and don't mean to diminish the impact at all, but I get tired of getting lectured on a topic the author wants to bring attention to. When the numbers are laid out in ordinary dialog sounding like it is coming from a professor, it's time to rewrite that part of the book. This isn't the first book that I have read like this. less
