review 1: I am about two-thirds of the way through, but I just had to make a comment. I have never read a book so replete with errors. I know this is self-published, but that doesn't mean you don't have a copy editor, or a friend even, read through to find errors. There's missing punctuation, misspellings, grammatical errors, missing words, and even a bizarre instance of the wrong name being used. Before you call me a grammar Nazi, please know that I proofread for a living, and if she would have just run a spell check, that would have caught about half of them. The errors just keep tripping me up, pulling me out of the story. It's not professional.I found the first book mildly interesting and thought I would give the second a try. I find it to be choppy and not completely fle... moreshed out. Which leads me to the opinion I have of why she self-published, because it's hard to get an agent with this quality of work.BUT, I feel the bones of the story are there, and with a little work, she can become a better author over time. I hate writing harsh reviews; authors are people, too, and criticism is never fun. If you're young and want a plain simple read, enjoy. If you're looking for a quality supernatural read, move on to something else.
review 2: I enjoyed the story, Michele Vail captivates us with magic and supernatural creatures like - necromancers, ghosts, zombies and reapers while amazing us with Egyptian gods like set, anubis and more! this was truly a tale of wonder!Molly Bartolucci is the destined leader of Anubis’s Chosen, As the only daughter of the god Anubis she must train and work hard to prove herself worthy of the task. As a student at the school for necromancers, reaper-in-training isn't all it's cracked up to be, but Molly is determined to find her place among the reapers she is meant to lead one day.when her human family is attacked Molly isn't sure who she should trust, the god set is soon going to break free of his prison after 5000 years and there are many enemies who would love to see him do it. In a race against time, Molly and her friends must face her fate head on or she will be left UNCHOSEN!I loved the characters in the story@ although the diary entries threw me off at some points I really liked the story! the characters were great and I think Henry was my favourite character! it was so funny how he had no sense of humour but because of it was funny!if you haven't read this series yet and love a great story with supernatural creatures this is your book! TBR it today! less
