review 1: This is one to check out if you're interested in faerie tale retellings, faeries, magic, and reimaginings of happily ever after. I've always been a huge fan of such things, and CINDERS definitely didn't disappoint. The only negative thing I have to say is that I wish it had been longer--the magic and the worldbuilding intrigued me, and I'd love to see more. Other than that, though, I found CINDERS a very enjoyable read. Lots of interesting characters, a solid story, and ponderings on love, relationships, and responsibility.
review 2: Really pushing 4 stars :) This was a surprising book! It's a reality check on the Cinderella story. The wedding is over, Cinderella has moved in to the castle. Is it everything she dreamed of? Not really. And just why was it that t... morehe Prince fell for her so quickly? Is it true love, or the effects of a spell? And what happens when someone with magical powers loses control of a spell? This book is intriguing and makes you realize that life isn't a fairy tale. People get hurt. We can lose the ones we love. And yet life requires that we live up to our duties and responsibilities. It was a very good book. In my opinion it could have been longer. I would have liked more of Cinderella's past history, more detail and insight into this magical world Michelle Argyle has created. less
