review 1: The second in the Trelian series is very well done, but at the same time, I struggled through this book. The plot would pick up the pace, only to slow down again soon after. Instead of regularly building up the pace, it felt to me as though it would go back and forth. Also, I have a problem when characters make stupid decisions. I felt as though both Meg and Calen were continually making bad decisions. Mostly because they acted impulsively. I do understand that it was the point to show just how careless and impulsive Meg can be. But to really just make stupid decisions, that is what bothered me. Like telling anyone about the dreams...seriously? That seems extremely important. But anyway, the book and story ended well and on a cliffhanger. Serek and Anders were m... morey favorites in this installment. I also really liked the addition of Pela. She was a well written and sincere character. I will be excited to read the third book and see how the story will wrap itself up!
review 2: This was a great sequel to the dragon of trelian. The only downer being that it turned out to be a middle of a trilogy/series and the last one hasn't been written yet!!!!I liked the character development, they have matured a lot since we last met them although they still make foolish decisions and disobey direct orders which leads to their getting into more trouble than they should but I guess we need these clumsy plot devices or else we wouldn't end up with much of a story would we? :) less
