review 1: In order to escape her mob like father and his demand she marry someone of his choosing, Nadja Aleksander boards the first ship she finds which is Galaxy Brides. She has no idea what she is in for, especially when during the Breeding Festival she connects to Prince Olek of Draig, the royal ambassador for his family. Wanting just a simple life with perhaps a farmer or country doctor while in hiding from her father sounds ideal to her. She is outraged when she feels he has somehow deceived her with his princehood. Wanting to make use of her time, she uses her physician skills that she learned and assists the local villagers. Only when Nadja and Olek start breaking down the barriers and building up their marriage that Nadja discovers her father has found her and he's not... more happy. I really enjoyed Olek and Nadja's story. They were fun and I understood where there characters were coming from. This second book in the series takes place at the same time as the first, in fact some of the events are nearly word for word such as a conversation that took place between Olek and his brother Ualan, however with each person's different perspective, I was able to gain greater insight in the the royal family's values as a whole. This book had some of the elements that I wished I had seen in book 1. Yep..... on to book 3! :)
review 2: This series employs the seldom seen literary tactic of telling the same over-arcing story through the eyes of different characters. The author does this very well, blending what has already bee learned with new details so as to gain a clearer picture. It's very interesting to read the same scene as was in the previous book, but through different eyes and different thoughts on the same events. Will definitely be reading the rest of the series. less
