review 1: So three (3) years ago Franco was married to Lexi, but their marriage was doomed from the beginning. Franco got involved with her due to a bet he made with his buddies. Of course, Franco won the bet because he was THERE first and got caught. Then he had to marry her. Franco also fell in love with her, but not enough to trust that she wouldn’t lay down with his BFF. He believed his BFF when he claimed she did and Franco never bothered to ask Lexi about it. Instead he figured she did it and the baby could be his or it could be BFF’s. BFF makes an attempt at an apology, but it came too late Franco - three and a half years too late. HOWEVER, Franco still tries to make amends to Lexi – note the timing is the same too!! Sure I get that believing the worst of her wo... moreuld have colored everything they had in their life, but come on this guy didn’t even give her the benefit of denial! He comes to the conclusion that ALL lied and manipulated to keep them apart when he is faced with the golden arches, and I’m not talking McDonalds here! Now he wants her back and she, of course, comes running. His excuse for the bet was that he went along with it, but that was before he got to know her. Okay, reasonable, but it doesn’t sound like he even got to know her then! He still believed the worst of her!!If these hs weren’t so kindhearted the Hs wouldn’t get anywhere!! Does he apologize for the OW in his life soon after she 3 years ago – nope! He made it seem justified because once again he believed another party in regards to her. Lexi thinks she went into the marriage to punish Franco for the bet, seriously? Isn’t that a little like cutting your nose off to spite your face? Make the excuses up for him Lexi it will make it easier to accept him by page 186. I got to ask though: if she never sent the divorce papers would he have wanted to go to her then? What gets me is that I just read another one where the H got mad because the h believed a manipulative OW over him – so where’s the difference? Franco knew what these friends were willing to bet on and how despicable that was, but he still trusted them. Oh because he knew them from the old days, but it sounded like he didn’t really know them at all. He wouldn’t answer any questions until the end and it felt more like a way to drag the story on and this frustrated me. Once again the age card comes into play for the H here as well. He was young and arrogant and blah blah blah, problem though she is still younger than he was then!!! Where is her freebie due to age?
review 2: i will never again waste my time reading M&B romance......seriously, this is just a hundred and plus pages book and authors of M&B books are really out of their mind to write romance such as this, and make the story fit on this short pages story...hero in this book needs to grovel for 300 plus pages after what he has done....the heroine, no backbone*i've been reading mills and boon for a very long now,,,and i think they had their own formula and this are the common terms.*hero must be -very rich -very unforgivable -must cheat (optional) -must be a womanizer, to the point that in the end, you will believed that the heroine is married to a PORN STAR. -unlikable characters -and many unlikable thing you can have for your male protagonist*heroine must be -very very doormat -very very very doormat -very very very very doormat -falls in love with the heroes after an hour of meeting with them -must be experiencing difficulties in life*It need to have lies, betrayal, misunderstanding et cetera just to make the HERO hate the heroine for almst entire book*the heroine must still a "BUTT-LICKING DOG" to the hero, despite everything.*Some circumstances will happen to make the Hero asking for the heroine, simply because he didn't have a choice (in this book, it was the divorce paper, if no DP was sent by the heroine, the hero wont be asking for her, they will continue on will their own lives)*the confession of their love MUST(very big MUST) BE AT THE ENDING and MUST NOT (a very big MUST NOT) BE AT THE BEGINNING, MIDDLE, MIDDLE OF MIDDLE AND ENDING, MIDDLE OF MIDDLE OF MIDDLE AND ENDING, MIDDLE OF MIDDLE OF MIDDLE OF MIDDLE AND ENDING wherein the readers might enjoy* equals always angry while reading the entire book.......so that it..... this is the STANDARD FORMULA of writing a H M&B book... less
