review 1: An interesting premise, a fast read (started it at lunch today, finished this evening) and the teaser at the end makes me want to read on in the series. There's some passion lurking in these pages and there's one character that you're just waiting to see explode with it. I liked the juxtaposition of Declan's outward appearance and his actual character - never judge a book by it's cover alone. There are vampires in this storyline and a dhampir here and there as well. I'm hooked for now.
review 2: What should I say about Nightshade? Hmm.. Well, I rather enjoyed it but I somewhat wished that Michelle had killed off Declan, cool as he might have been, and then paired Jill with Matthias. That would have made her story a bit more angsty and the process of her falling
... more for Matthias would have been really nice and entertaining... I don't know, call me insane, but I do have a thing for bad guys... It really could have grown to be something else, even more fun than this book was so I do have a bit of a sour taste in my mouth with regards to the end. Not sure if I'll go read the second book but I might just, if only in hopes of some Matthias and Jill progress. That man is amazing in that he knows what he is and doesn't feel sorry for it. He doesn't apologize in love and is deeply reasonable in every situation. Gosh, if only... Why, Michelle? Why not have the dramatic love story? less

I was kind of disappointed there were only 2 books. I really liked both books.

The beginning was better than the end.
