Prior purchasing Everyday is Christmas, I never had any interest in Christmas albums. It was a bias I held, believing Christmas albums were sappy trash trying to earn a quick buck. Then I discovered Sia (one of my favourite artists) was releasing a Christmas album.
My initial reaction wasn’t a pleasant one, with thoughts something along the line ‘What the hell is she doing!?’. However, upon listening to one of the songs on YouTube, I decided to take the plunge and purchase the CD. To my surprise, I actually highly enjoyed it, discovering some of my favourite songs in 2017.
If I had to criticize one aspect of the album, it’s that I left with the impression this was a side project from Sia, rather than devoting herself for a fully fledged album. Additionally, as much as I enjoyed what is on offer, I won’t be hanging out for other festival albums.
