review 1: I enjoyed this one. I haven't read a science book in a long time, but this one was accessible, well-written, and highly entertaining. I especially enjoyed the chapters about the future of computers, energy, and nanomedicine. I suspect that many of his predictions will be correct, but it will be even more interesting to see what unexpected events/breakthroughs/disasters happen between now and then. There are some points where the "science" gets too deep, and he lost me. But I'm not a physicist. I tended to gloss over some of those sections, which is unfortunate but necessary I guess. The chapter on the future of computers is worth the price of admission on this one. Great read.

... moretion (or, should I say, a range of possible directions) humanity may be lead by developments fields such as nanotechnology, robotics, natural resources and the like.Making predictions about the future is always a tricky activity and it can easily degenerate in a cheap futurism with no scientific basis. However reading Kaku’s book I felt he brought up some interesting points to support his vision of the future. Most of the assumptions he makes begins with his personal experience, some others sparkle from conversations he had with scientists and experts on the field he talks about or when he visited state of the art researches institute where the latest technological discovery are being made today.Physics of the Future was an enjoyable reading, one that can offer many useful insights, especially for those who seek out ideas for Sci-Fi books in the making and wish to provide to those ideas some scientific basis. less

I am an engineering student and I find this so applicable to my field of study, which always requires hard work and enthusiasm. I always got my passion from this book during my physics classes. And also this book is very easy to understand even a person who doesn't know about the physics would understand easily. Also the fact are very rational with strong evidence or proof made by Kaku Michio. So I strongly recommend this book.

Michio Kaku's passion for science and insightful visions of the future are demonstrated through plentiful research and a vivacious yet 'user-friendly' writing style. The content is divided into digestible chunks, making it a pleasure to read. I'd recommend this book to those who have a hungry desire for knowledge and insight into future innovation.(My first attempt at a short review, let me know how I could improve. Thanks!)

Good overview of some things we can expect in the future but it was a bit repetitive in places.

our future is so much fun if we can avoid all unwanted noise around us right now!

So, science fiction was not fiction after all.
