Lenny and Lucy is the story of Peter and his dog Harold who are moving to a new home on the other side of the woods with their dad. Peter is unhappy, insisting that moving is an awful idea and that if Harold could talk, he would say so too. The ominous woods on the other side of the bridge from their new house scares Peter, so he decides to build a guardian. He makes a big pile of pillows and blankets, crafting them into a watchman named Lenny. Peter decides that something is missing. Lenny needs a friend. So he builds a friend named Lucy. Peter, Harold, Lenny, and Lucy become best friends and decide that moving to the new house was not so bad. This lovely story illustrates how a little creativity and imagination can go a long way, especially when dealing with an undesirable change.
