review 1: This book was quite juvenile, but I liked the story. I liked how a girl was stepping up and playing with the boys. The thing I didn't like about this book was the ending. I felt as if there wasn't really closure. There could have been more detail and explanation on what happens with all of the characters and I was kind of disappointed that we were left in the dark. Other than that it wasn't a bad read!
review 2: I really enjoyed reading this book because of all the ups and downs the author put in. It starts off with Molly Williams, your typical 8th grader. Molly has friends that support her and she gets good grades in school, but when her dad dies, she feels he left something behind-baseball. Molly used to always play catch with her dad and they would always wa... moretch the Cubs on TV, but when he's gone, she feels the need to bring him back in a way. She decides to try out for the baseball team. Not the softball team, the boys' baseball team. Molly tries out among 30 or so other guys, she meets some friends along the way and finds out that she can be different in her own way and people will learn to accept it. In this adventure by Mick Cochrane, Molly learns that she can do whatever she wants, as long as she has the heart and bravery to try. less
