review 1: For You is definitely a more serious novel than Mimi Strong's other books. This story is about a young woman having to grow up way too fast & take on the responsibility of her teenage self & a young child. Aubrey has always taken care of either her mother and/or her sister, Bell. She's never known what it feels like to be unconditionally loved or to feel safe & secure in her life. Lately, she's had too always look over her shoulder making sure her secrets stay in the past and don't catch up with her present. Then she meets Sawyer........Sawyer is a tatted up artist looking for his place in life. He's always felt like his purpose has been missing. He's never felt like he was enough in life for someone to want him around for keeps. He meets Aubrey and feels like he's... more found the missing piece. Now he just needs to break down Aubrey's walls so she'll let him in.This book was very intriguing & I loved how these two found each other. There were some great steamy scenes thrown in the mix as well. I must admit I was very frustrated with Aubrey at times and just wanted to slap some sense into her!! I also was on edge for a bit when Sawyer & his roommate, Spanky....yes that's his name, threw a party with two barely dressed females! Aubrey shows up the next morning at Sawyer's place and..........The book was given to me for free by the author in exchange for an honest review. I honestly loved this book and Aubrey & Sawyer's story gave me everything I look for in a good book......romance, hot male, steamy love scenes, angst, & HEA!! Thanks Mimi Strong for another fab story!!
review 2: It was extremely difficult to connect with this book. It is admirable that Aubrey is doing everything possible to protect her little sister: giving up her own life and dreams, and working her fingers to the bone. But because she is on the run she ends up deceiving everyone around her. Then she gets involved with a guy, Sawyer, whom she knows nothing about. Sawyer lives in a filthy house with a disgusting pig of a roommate and smokes weed that make him hallucinate. You have to wait to the very end of the book before any of the important questions are answered! less
