review 1: This is a fun, sexy introduction to The Dominant Series. I normally pass over novellas, but after reading the reviews, I decided to try it. I am so glad I did. I absolutely loved this book. The author does an amazing job at character development in a short period of time and the story itself is so well written, you don't feel like you're missing out on any details. This series starts out with Gia attending a cancer benefit with her best friend. She's a little reluctant about going because this isn't a typical benefit. The grand prize of the raffle drawing is 7 days with a dom, and guess whose name is drawn. Gia decides to take advantage of her prize, and meets JP Stone. JP Stone meets his match. Gia is not use to being submissive. She's a very independent, feisty ... morewoman. Her inner monologue is hilarious. You will fall in love with Gia and JP, and your heart will sink at the end of book 1 as you're left with a cliff hanger that will have you racing to download book 2. Don't pass up this little gem.
review 2: Writing's amateurish, predictable & eerily reminiscent of another "D/s" tale, complete with his & hers contracts.Gia is invited to a "kinky party" by her friend Karli. Unbeknownst to her she's entered into a raffle & wins a week with a Dom. Gia considers herself "controlling" & ill equipped for submission but armed with a return ticket & an out clause she decides to board the private plane to meet her anonymous Dom in Vail.Gia is vain, materialistic, doesn't seem all that intelligent especially considering her vocabulary relies heavily on the word 'totally', overall she's boring. I mean who the hell gets a free trip to Vail & spends their entire time napping or showering? Once she went out shopping. Once! That's the height of imagination she can muster up in a, by all accounts, a beautiful city that she's never been to before? One word: lame. The Dom, JP Stone, in question turns out to be a millionaire (of course) with an abusive past (I’m noticing a pattern here.). And he's moody & taciturn. (I am just saying… I'm pretty sure I've read this somewhere before.) This is part one of a series & it ends on somewhat of a cliff although I'm not sure I'm interested in what’s on the other side of the cliff. less
