review 1: Real rating 3.5 stars. A fun romp with lots of action and a little bit of romance, an unusual and creative concept, an independent and strong, if fallible, heroine, and good world building. I wasn't expecting to fall for this one as much as I did, as I'm often not a fan of contemporary paranormal (particularly fluffy ones), but it proved to be a more than welcome distraction from real life. I will definitely be reading the second book when the library gets it in.
review 2: Dusty is a Nightmare who feeds off people's bad dreams. She's also a klutz and a loser in her school of magical teens. While feeding off the dreams of a hot guy she happens to know, she witnesses a murder that turns out to be real, and it takes place at her school. She and the hottie team up... more to try to solve the mystery of who killed the student. Unfortunately, this book seemed full of cliche after cliche. The twists were obvious from the beginning, and I did not buy the teen-speak at all. I was relieved when it ended. less
