review 1: Go NOW.. READ this book!!!!! Amazon, book stores whatever!!! To say it is good, is an understatement !! WOW!!! The only thing Incan say to Missy Johnson (,jeez, and I don't even feel like 'ME A readed.. Should.. But MY OPINION -the cover!! It doesn't portray Micah)Ok, I said it!! Micah has had one 'HELL of a life for as young as she is, but she is a survivor and what I would call a success story.. Yeah, she might/could have Done it differently... However, for what she has been through and what she has seen.... Nope!! So without giving too much away, you read a little piece about the book... Micah, she is one smart girl. She had some pretty life altering things happen to her at an early age.. So with her 'smarts, worldly and her intelligence,' she makes things happen for h... moreer so things aren't SO hard. Micah has a fake ID made for her saying she was '18' ... Just a little lie, right!! (By four years!!! She is really 14 years old) So jump ahead several years - Micah is now "17" but people and her ID says she is 21...as she has been working and making money - her dream is to make it big in the 'music business' and one day she gets that chance.. She gets a call to come audition for a rock band 'Resurrections' she was so nervous, because as she was waiting she begins talking to a man - Saxon Waite. Micah recognizes him - who wouldn't, he was a rock GOD!! And gorgeous! He was a legend of a rock band at a very young age but due to drugs and alcohol ( he has a sad story) causing him to quit music at a young age.. Now at 25'years, he manages his cousins band 'Resurrection.' So to stop and give just a little teaser to make you go and get this awesome book, of course... Micah is awesome and lands the job.. Their is a connection between she and Sax (however, let me say... He does NOT know her real age.. Nor does the band!!! Yes, this is BAD!!!! ) jus saying.... Drama Ok... Major DRAMA, twists, and major hot sex scenes... But also sad and some angry times... Sax and his cousin, Henry have a very difficult relationship also..So there is also that going on too.. So much to tell... This is a really great book, and I do hope missy has another with secondary characters as you do get invested in them as well!! They become very close, family!! So you will want to know what happens with Sax and Micah!!! UghAnd also the band itself and the members as individuals!! Way to hit this book to 5 stars and I would give more if I could.. Well I will here... 8 ********. Wahoo
review 2: I swear I have become addicted to every one of Missy Johnson’s books that I’ve read and this is no exception. I devoured this book in just a few hours and even skipped dinner to finish it. The characters were awesome and the story line had me riveted.Saxon and Micah are similar in a lot of ways and they hit it off right away. They both have had to deal with past mistakes and matured a lot because of it. Despite their actual age difference, they act more like the same age. Micah is responsible and smart. She is strong willed and determined to go after what she wants. Saxon is trying to bounce back a bit after a downward spiral in the rock & roll limelight. I instantly took a liking to both of these people. They easily drew me into their story and found myself eagerly reading to find out how everything would play out for them.The story line was very interesting. There is the whole rock band thing going on but there is also the romance between Saxon and Micah. Also, there is the underlying issues of Saxon and Micah both still dealing with their pasts. This was all woven together in just the right way to draw the reader in and hold them there until the very last word. I highly recommend picking up your own copy of this fantastic story. 5 out of 5 stars! less
