A Devil and Her Love Song
review 1: I have to admit, I preferred this book to the first one. The characters have smoothed out some, and some of Maria's 'secrets' are starting to be hinted at, rather than staying secrets. Also, she's not seeming quite as creepy. It's also nice to see she's made a friend, of sorts, in the girl who'd previously pushed her down the stairs, Tomoyo. Maria's distaste for herself is very interesting for a shojo storyline, at least from many others I've read in the past. After reading this second book, I'm probably going to pick up more of this series.
review 2: This second volume amped up on the social outcast vibe that the school is giving Maria, and even ostracizing her new friends too. I'm amazed Maria can take it. She has more patience than a saint rather than a
... more "devil" (all due to her honesty and lack of tact) to take that ridicule. I now really wonder if she can turn it all around with this choir performance (along with Yusuke, Shin, and Tomoyo) that the other students seem to have abandoned? less
