review 1: Long term absentee Hana Ibuki returns to school and gets completely swept up in hating Maria, just like the rest of the ridiculous girls at Totsuka High. Fortunately, Hana originally meant well and Maria sees that and reaches out to her. The manipulation and drama by the popular girls is becoming harder to swallow for the students who do not take a side. This is such a good story so far. I hope my library has more issues.
review 2: I finished this WHOLE THING in one sitting. And I couldn't help but notice something . . .The art looks so pretty!!!But I did notice something else . . .These characters are hard to remember for me for some reason. (I finally got their names down in my head, but that's not what I meant.)They don't make a big impact. They don't do much
... more that will let me REMEMBER who they are.(*Sigh...)I'm so bad at explaining things....Take this for example:Main character A marches up to main character B and says, "Hey, what's up?"Main character B smacks main character A in the face and says, "BOOM SHAKALAKA!!!"(Jeez, that's not a good explanation either...)The story doesn't need to be dramatic or anything like that, but the point of the supporting character is to be there to support the main character. Because in life, the whole reason you have conflicts at all are because you're involved with other people! The characters should...affect the main character in a way. But for some reason, the characters aren't as strong or noticeable. They're just...extra people.BUT I did realize a couple of things in this story.Maria's cold like that because people probably never attempted to comfort her. They just verbally assault her by calling her "Devil Maria" and staying away from her.No matter how cold a person can be, they're still human! They still have emotions!I guess when you're upset about something, and you don't have any friends around you that are willing to comfort you or cheer you up or make you feel better, a wall builds up each time. That's Maria to me. She seems like she's alone all the time, and each time she's upset and no one comes, walls are building up around her and no one is trying to stop it.So she just needs somebody to break through those walls and cheer her up!(I'm using my English class skills to interpret the message of the story...)Anyway, I have volumes 4 and 6 on my bookshelf! This story actually feels a little slow paced, but I hope it picks up a little... less

Whether people are 'good' or 'bad' in this is swiftly becoming confusing.

I didn't like Hana from the start. But I do like Shin a lot. And Maria!
